So, yesterday, I made flan for the first time, and it turned out incredibly delicious that I couldn’t resist savoring every bite.
But, what is flan?
Flan had its origins in Rome as a savory dish commonly served with meat or fish. However, its popularity soared when a chef introduced a sweet version by incorporating honey. This innovation caught the attention of cultures around the world. The Spanish embraced the recipe and put their own unique twist on it.
Let’s get straight to the point & dive right into the recipe, shall we?
INGREDIENTS:
- 7oz condensed milk
- 1 egg
- 200ml milk
- 3 tbsp. sugar (to make caramel)
- half tsp vanilla extract (it is optional, although I prefer a pinch of fine cardamom powder)
